Unlike other free gallery software systems out there, IPG doesn't bog you down with lots of extra features you don't need. No "member gallery" management and permissions features.
No complicated configurations or multiple templating systems. But it can be easily customized by any knowledgable web developer. Works with most good web hosting providers! There's nothing wrong with gallery systems like Coppermine and Gallery. We think they're great, and use them for many of our projects. However, they can be overkill and lack the professional simplicity needed for the fast development and customization of a professional looking website.
Instant Photo Galley has been designed by a photographer for use by photographers, models, artists, and anyone in need of a gallery with the following features:
- Complete Website Solution. It's not just a typical gallery, but a whole website creation system. Great for professionals who need an easy way to produce an entire site quickly and update it easily.
- Simple Code. IPG is written in PHP and does what it's supposed to do without being overloaded with complex code. That means it's easy for web developers to modify and customize without having to learn a new system.
- Unlimited Content. Create as many content or informational pages as you want using a WYSIWYG editor. Great for pages like "About Us," "Services & Rates," "Contact Us," or any others you make up.
- Unlimited Gallery Categories. Create as many sections to your gallery as you want, with as many photos as you want in each. You define the categories!
- Add Intro Text To Galleries. Using the WYSIWYG editor, you can add text and content to each of your gallery categories.
- Change Image Order. Theong>Ch your mouse moves the display order of your images. Images in position #1 are displayed prominently at the opening of their category and as the selected image for the main page thumbnails.
- Change Image Categories. Want to move an image to another gallery category? It's as easy as selecting the category in a dropdown box.
- Hidden Image Galleries. You can designate any gallery category as "private" which makes it only available to those you supply a login account to. The individual photos in a private gallery are still visible to anyone with the direct URL to a photo, so these should be considered "semi-private" or hidden galleries.
- Configurable. Set things like image thumbnail size, main image size, number of columns in thumbnail view, and more!
- Easy To Customize. Although it could probably serve your purposes as-is, you or your web developer can quickly customize the look of your IPG site with just a little HTML and/or CSS knowledge.
- Works With Existing MySQL Database. IPG database tables are automatically installed in your current database using table the default table prefix, or one you designate. The MySQL database is available on most hosting plans.
- Written in PHP. Another standard on most hosting accounts, PHP is a favorite language of web developers of all skill levels.
